Aluminium recycling

Aluminium is a material uniquely suited to meet the needs and challenges of the 21st century, as it is a key element in the global transition to cleaner energies and technologies.
Europe aims that the transition to greener technologies will be supplied by sustainable materials, where Aluminium will play a key role thanks to its potential as a low-carbon solution.
Masperotech is proud to contribute to this global transition and to help meet the #EU2050climate-neutralitygoal, selling Aluminium chips and using recycled Aluminium to forge our pieces and create new products.

What makes Aluminium such a great material?

Aluminum and its alloys are exceptional materials in that they can be recycled indefinitely times to create new goods without losing its original properties and with no discernible quality loss.
In fact, 95% of the energy absorbed in the metal’s primary production stages is stored in the material and reintroduced when the scrap is remelted.

Aluminium is not found “pure” in nature and producing it from scratch requires 13 kilowatt-hours of energy per kilogram, which also results in climate-changing emissions from energy production, which is still heavily reliant on the use of fossil fuels. On the contrary, the production of recycled or secondary aluminum saves 95% of the energy required to produce primary aluminum, allowing for CO2 savings of between 35-96%, depending on the waste stream and its complexity. Recycling also prevents the need for new mining, saving resources and avoiding the environmental impacts associated with extraction.
